Why Spore have no blue skies

And so C and H continues on their quest to make me and P as fat as possible. Let us not mention the daily breakfast of nasi lemak, mee siam and cheecake, but also the lunches!!! We had lunch today at Fremantle - Cicerello (if I spelt it right)'s seafood. Great portions and very fantastic clam chowder!! The breaded crumb fish fillet was a BIT dry and over fried but the view way compensated for it! Fantastic blue skies with seagulls eyeing on your food and just WAITING till you leave to grab the leftovers. Proceeded to Fremantle Markets which was ok.... a tad disappointing after our stint in BJ where we saw Guan Yuan, Liang Ma, Zoo Mkt.... the handicrafts are pretty cool with fairycraft and mosaic tiled mirror stuff but  the fashion is just a  WEE BIT off. A bit more of Marks & Spencer flavour here. Had the coolest ice cream where they mixed M&Ms or Kit Kats or Maltese (of your choice) into your ice cream and I chose the MOST SOUR lemon sorbet!!! Drove under the bluest sky where I sumarised that Spore HAS the same blue sky but is totally blocked off by all the skyscrapers and HDB flats. Later went to Habour Town where CMI insisted there was good Nike sale but again, coming from the land where they MADE all those apparel, we just didnt want to pay 5 times more for it even if it is authentic. Ok, maybe for some, 2 times more. In the end, I think we spent more money buying nougat :) hee hee... currently eating strawberries (not as sweet as those in BJ) from Fremantle Markets.....die lah, I think I am missing BJ while in Perth!!! Hee hee......

What is life without wine and ice cream?

Wanted to blog yesterday but K-oed due to some flu. H thinks its me winding down the window ALL DAY while we toured Swan Valley drinking and eating and drinking.... too much fresh air she says..... but seriously, it was a very very good day of the blue blue sky and wonderful puffy clouds. Sure we had some light showers but our car managed to outrun them and we spent the day tasting the good life - wine for P. Yes, he drank till his face AND ears were all red and for me, I stuffed myself with GELATO!!! Best part is in this weather, ice cream takes so long to melt!!! First we went to Oggie's for yummy yummy ice cream - very good peach gelato!! Then went to a few wineries for tasting. Only remembered Jarriah Ridge where we bought some wine. Cool whites which I gave up tasting after a while since I was getting sleepy. Alcohol makes me sleepy. H - our driver - couldn't drink but she happily bought grape juice and cheese which was yummy too. I so think Aussies are not so thin for a very good reason!! Visited Mondo's Nougat World and Magaret River's Choc factory!!!! Totally stuffed ourselves with the tasting!! Free nougat (altho only one piece per pax) and free choc!!! It was all so beautiful and serene like out of this world.... drove along Sunset Coast and I ponited out the house that P is supposed to buy for me. Yup, so it will cost a few million dollars but hey, a guy needs some goals in life right? :)

What a flat falt world afterall

It is now 5:12pm in Perth and it is abt 12 deg and rainy.....bgrrrrrrrr..... I had packed for a DRY cold type and didnt expect the rain.... somehow it is a little like Shanghai. Not as cold as BJ but the wet makes it seem like freezing. Arrived yesterady where the sunny blue skies held such promise...... today it is London gloom including the rain.... Explored the city today with some tips from my gal pal in Joondalup (where me and P are bunking in). Their MRT is quite similar to Spore but their stations are like open concept - oblivous to the wet drops from the sky lah - with very few gates and signs and little shelter from the freezing winds. Most of the trains and stations are above ground and they are very smooth (almost like the bullet trains in Japan). Perth city is really small. Perth may be big on the map but it is mostly flat housing with few built up areas. All housing AND retail marts are like ONE storey lor. So like the USA in the 60s or like what P said - Desperate Housewives backdrop. Very suburban and very good for retirement I hear :) No stairs to climb mah. The city consist of 2 main streets of shopping and 2 other main streets of CBD area. Shopping was not VERY interesting after BJ (not cheap and all very Western concept). Even the wedding and evening gowns look like they came out of Muriel's Wedding. VERY local. No Korean or Jap fashion here. All Rip Curl and Sports Girl. Bodyshop is also more expensive here.  Ventured through this tourist spot - London Court where they had quaint little shops complete with old London designs. Met this not very nice local AUSSIE while I was taking pics of some chess pieces and handphone made of choc. She came to us and asked me to stop and I said sorry and asked is it becoz I am not supposed to take pics. She said yes pls delete them and so I did. Then in a very nasty voice and slanted eyes she asked sarcastically why did I take pics if I knew I am not supposed to.  I said I didnt see any signs and I didnt know. Then we walked off. Left me with a very very unpleasant aftertaste. Almost asked her if she was a fan of Pauline Hanson. I mean, she is in the tourist line so why is she so rude? Anyway our day improved with a good meal at Kallis seafood!!!! HUGE portions of fish and mussels which P almost CMI...... Later we went to Hilary's Habourfront where it has great vuew of the coast but sadly it was raining so we only had coffee in the cafe... tiny shops with fabulous desserts and yes, coffees and little handicrafts. Also of course, we had yummy yummy ice cream!!!! Tonight we are going to eat Jap food..... grrrr, I am going to be SO SO fat lor.....

Why do Taiwanese hv so many variety shows?

P likes these variety shows, which amazes me. Ok, so he likes these wierd strange really mindless but also sometimes intellectual shows (altho seldom lah). I mean, he even watches Oprah which is even more mind boggling except that ok, that woman is kind to charity causes so a bit ok lah. But Taiwanese variety and game shows are just in a class of their own. Let's not talk abt classic favourite food shows and travelogues which can be interesting and actually teaches something. There is even this gambling game show which is funny in the booby prizes and it is a form of mathematics actually (as all addicted gamblers will tell the same excuse). It's those that showcase pedicures/manicures, makeovers, ask celebrities strange questions like why men like to act childish, horroscope discussions and its impact on your love life and let us not forget the celebrity hosts which makes pple go thru wierd games like going thru a obstacles course with high speed fans blowing at you while you attempt to wear a raincoat and eat noodles. But there is one particular show which invites funny celebrities to eat at a restaurant and guess the price of each dish they order. They are allowed a max budget which the one whose bill is the farthest from the budget will foot the total bill!!! Very interesting food intro too - always manages to make me hungry!!!

The day I discovered Mr Bean

I finally found my new love!!! It is Mr Bean!!! This soya bean franchise is good man. It was an after-dinner stroll around Golden Mile and my eye is caught by the CUTEST EVER beanie toy in the shape of a soya bean. Ok, so I sort of promised myself and P that I will NOT EVER buy another soft toy to stuff into the cupboards. I mean, I bought quite a few in BJ and I didnt plan on having them either. But this one is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!! Have always seen the Mr Bean logo around but always thought the soya bean milk must be powdery. But I wanted the toys which half the price is going to charity... and so P wanted to try the soya bean ice cream. SOYA ICE CREAM!!! That is way cool lor. And so P and myself were "strongly discussing" whether the soft toy is worth $3 ($1.50 is going to charity. But P insist that the toy production cost is only 50 cents) and waiting for ice cream (ran out at our turn).... and it was worth the wait!!! Staring at the menu, it was pretty cool with soya bean smoothies with papaya, strawberry flavours.... and also they sell pineapple tarts, bean cakes, almond beancurd, etc etc.... cool man!!! And yes, I bought 2 soft toys....darn cute man!!!!
